I went back to Tulane today, 2 for 1 special, oncologist AND liver doctor.
Good news - cancer doctor was happy with my blood work, no real cancer concerns. That is always great to hear.
Bad news - one "liver marker" in my blood work is still high, but did drop a bit, so at least trending downward.
Good news - weight is down to 180, everybody is happy about that.
Bad news - weight loss, if fatty liver was cause for concern of blood liver marker thingy, hardly changed it.
So kind of "meh", but I will take a "meh" over the alternative.
Liver doctor is still concerned about the elevated blood protein thing, I think "AST". Within range, but still high for me.
I have to go back in October for a CT scan/chest x-ray for the oncologist. On the same day, the liver doctor will do another liver fibroscan. The fibroscan should show a serious reduction in the fat on my liver due to the weight loss.
Depending on the results of the liver scan/CT scan, and blood work, if liver doctor is still concerned, he will probably order a liver biopsy. He does not think I have liver cancer or anything super bad, but something is not right. No hepatitis, or cirrhosis, or even hardening of my liver, maybe some odd infection/disease, who knows
So, kind of "meh", but good enough for another 6 months anyway, so that clears me for the National and Sand Blast, I will worry about this crap later
